My Instructional Design and Technology Journey – Episode 1

Hello all, My name is Sonja Howell aka Sunny. I will be your host.
My plan for tranquil studio is to
• share experiences,
• find how this new virtual education that we are experiencing will play out into the future. We can’t go back to saying it won’t work.
• discuss educational styles,
• problem solve,
• share tips, tricks
• and document my personal journey through my doctoral degree in philosophy of instructional design and technology.

The main purpose of tranquil studio is to find the gaps that need to be filled within instruction. My own personal background includes adult instruction high school instruction my own children’s instruction and a program I’ve created named tranquil parenting which has its own unique curriculum that’s taught in groups 1 on one and it has an on line classroom as well as a few other certifications that I have for parenting instruction I’ve also been a graphic designer marketing funding programs for nonprofit organizations assistant to executive directors producer of an educational access channel creating learning videos instructor for school districts for a professional development of teachers And I don’t see that all of this experience was for not. When I wanted to continue my education even further I could see myself going into the direction of theology to continue in the direction of my faith, but that wasn’t what was in store for me I decided going to A Christian school that had a degree towards and doctorate in education with a religious worldview was closer to the path that I was looking for. The way that I learn is by documenting through multimedia. I’ve decided to create this series of videos and audio files for myself and why not share it with the rest of the world and while I’m at it maybe other instructors would like to share their stories. Online classroom setup and podcast setup The fun titles that I’ve come up with so far to begin with is documenting how I began documenting my journey what technology I’ve used what on-line resources I’ve used as far as creating the intro the outro and some of the secrets that helped me create my on line programs . You can go out into the web and take classes that cost $3000 in order to do these same things that i did it’s just knowing where the resources are and I’m here to tell you. I’d like to invite you to join along with me. Stay tranquil, stay sunny and see you later, bye

The Journey Begins

Please share this page with everyone who has used technology for educational purposes, no matter what their experience of it is. I’m not stingy on sharing information.

Current development: Setting up to begin sharing technology for educational use. This is my jam… this is my lane… this is my story… can’t wait to begin sharing. Just a few more pieces of technology and a tiny bit of software to finish the gaps in the production line… I have a buzz in the audio. I’ll be on soon!

It’s a perfect time for this small town girl to share her ride on the instructional design and technology midnight train, how I will never stay in my lane and why I suggest you should not too!

So many others are just about to jump aboard right now. I suggest for all to “open up because here comes the choo-choo train!” Hope you’re hungry 😋 and ready to find technology useful.

So many who wanted to fight this trip for so many reasons. I’m so excited to observe and report all the challenges and even better… all the learning tracks. I predict the online naysayers will find this time to be the best thing they’ve gone through in their careers.

The last few days for me;

4/1/2020 began purchasing items for the new studio to help share my journey of instructional design and technology

4/10 EarPods are in

4/13 logo created, social media and website/blog set up

4/14 microphone is in and set up thanks to my son

Next items: observe everything… script everything… record everything… share everything and tell my story. Hope I’ll find many more people like me who want to experiment and share their progress.
